For those who don't know, I started a Facebook site for Oak Cliff baby boomers, such as myself. It was an unexpected and surprising success with over
1,400 members now and around 600 photos posted and many interesting discussion threads. Please check it out at OAK CLIFF BOOMERS. Just type that in the search
box and it will take you there.
Also, on the second Thursday of each month, a bunch of Oak Cliff rats meet at Chip's Hamburgers for a very informal social gathering. It's mostly folks from around the class of 1968 and was started by some SOC grads. It has steadily grown to include folks who grew up all over Oak Cliff. It is located at the corner of Lovers Lane and the Tollway. We start around 6 PM and they close at 9 PM, but the owner is a SOC/Bishop Dunne grad and lets us hang out a little later if we want.
We are also doing a Toys For Tots collection this Thursday, Dec. 10. This is purely voluntary and there is no obligation. Just come and enjoy. Very casual and informal. You never know who you might run into there! Thanks!
