Hope everyone has a grand 2010!. We were in Dallas for the first white Christmas there since 1926 (seems like I remember some dustings at Christmas time, but the weather service must not consider those truly white), and the first ever officially recognized blizzard there. My brother got stuck in white outs out past Ranger, but finally made his destination safely. We came home (Edmond, Oklahoma, north of OKC) to find four and five foot drifts and 14 inches of the white stuff. So, it was a truly white Christmas, and all the snow is still on the ground today, with more forecast for tomorrow. The city was unable to cope, and we still have snow and ice clogged streets, except for designated snow routes.
I shoveled all day yesterday (we got home Saturday), and looks like I'll be doing that again soon.
Best wishes to all. David McNeely
