Bill Slusher (who later went to Sunset, I believe) read this poem aloud in Ms. Well's 4th grade class at Jefferson Davis elementary school. I memorized it because I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard at 10 yrs old.

I'm writing this letter to tell you
That taxes have taken away
The things I really needed
My workshop, my reindeer, my sleigh

Now I'm making my rounds on a jack ass
He's old and crippled and slow
So if you don't see me this Christmas
I'll be out on my ass in the snow.

Bill Slusher was sent home with a note.

Whatever his mode of transport, may Santa show up at your house this year!
