both the town of Tehuacana and Lake Tawokoni owe their name origins to the Tawokoni Indians, close relatives of the Waco tribe, and members of the Caddo Confederation. This article (http://www.tshaonline.org...cles/TT/hlt4.html) gives me the impression that the name Tehuacana was adopted as an attempt to fancy up the name from the "Tawackony Springs" that was the original town name. Of course, all these spellings are just attempts to render the tribal name in a European language in the first place.
