Yep, Adair's on Cedar Springs was great not only for the outstanding burgers and country fries but because of its proximity to SMU and all that implies. I've been to the current version in Deep Ellum but its just not the same (same shadow thing applies). The Point in Addison, Midway Point, Northwest Point, and any other Points that are still in existence serve a big burger and fries that IMHO is the equal of the old Adair's.

Can't say I remember Pizza on Wheels but it sounds like it had about the same lifespan as Chicken Delight.

Eating raw hamburger meat as a young male child must be one of our rights of passage or something. I used to sneak a meatball size, bloody hunk from the bowl when mom was mixing meatloaf and thought it was ambrosia. Mom on the other hand would almost gag if she saw me eating it. Have talked to other guys that did the same thing as kids. This would gag me today although I do enjoy Sushi, Sashimi and on rare (no pun intended) occasion a bloody as hell steak .
